Don't Be Blue!
September 20, 2015

Sunday, September 20, 2015,

This week's lesson is all about the blues! I just can't get enough of it, to be honest. Blues is the foundation of jazz, rock, country, folk, and pop music. So, if you really want to "kick it" with your playing, these voicings will get ya there.
I like to start with the 12 bar blues form and go from there. This week's lesson shows you very cool jazzy voicings for the F Blues, so that's F7, Bb7 and C7.

Here is the form of the 12 bar blues in F

How To Play Piano by Ear - Special Offer

Have you ever wondered how people play by ear? Is it something you've always wanted to do? There is a GREAT book and CD by Robert Laughlin that I sell in many of the classes that I teach AND use in my own teaching. I wish I could say that I wrote it but, alas, I did not.

This 68 page book and CD called How To Play Piano By Ear will take the mystery out of playing songs by ear. Starting very simply, you learn two and three chord songs. Then you graduate to songs with more than three chords. You then learn how to play songs from recordings and transpose a song.

You will figure out where to put a chord and why.

You will learn about keys, scales and the all-important CIRCLE OF FIFTHS!

Everything is clearly demonstrated on the CD.

This is an Intermediate level book so you need to know your chords pretty well (major, minor and sevenths) and know your way around the keyboard pretty smoothly.

Now, I know this is gonna sound hokey, but it's the truth. I have only five complete packages. That is all I ordered and all that I can order. And here's my special offer. If you get this program, I will be available to you via email to answer any questions you may have for one month after you receive the book and CD. I will be your personal resource. I couldn't do this for lots of people, but for five people, sure thing!

The cost of the book and CD is $25.

That's all for today. Have a great start to your week (and middle and end too for that matter).

And remember, love your piano and it will love you back!
Sincerely,
